I’ve been on the lookout today for a Digg blog post denying the Google buyout rumor, but curiously, unlike last March, that isn’t coming… Instead, we have a post from founder Kevin Rose about Digg’s new integration with Facebook Connect. This is the service unveiled at the f8 conference today that allows you to use your Facebook account to share data with 3rd party sites.

By utilizing Facebook Connect, anyone who has a Facebook account can easily become a Digg user now with one-click. With this connection, stories you digg are automatically piped into your Facebook Mini-Feed.

Says Rose:

Facebook Connect is a key step in Digg’s effort to extend the Digg experience across the social graph. Look out for more upcoming features that further our commitment to the openness and transparency of user data and in providing you more control over your data.

Digg’s open approach to its user data still doesn’t include showing the data on which stories users on Digg bury (vote down), but hey, I guess that’s only important depending on what your definition of “transparency” is.
