Evernote releases “huge” update for Android

Popular note-taking software maker Evernote has been releasing one upgrade after another to its products over the last few months, including its iPhone, Windows, and Mac applications. Today the company released an upgrade to its Android application.

The version is called Evernote 3.0, and the company says this upgrade is huge. There are added sharing and organizational features, improved text editing, security options, new views and a revamped widget. Evernote is an application for storing notes, pictures, and more. Notes are stored in notebooks that can be shared with other users.

New sharing options make Evernote a better mobile collaboration tool. You can edit shared notebook content with a mobile device if the individual sharing with you is a Premium subscriber. Users can also share their notes to Facebook and Twitter from an Android device with just one button.

Premium subscribers have the possibility to take the notebook offline so that it is accessible when you don’t have a network connection.

Evernote has raised around $45 million in funding from Sequoia Capital, Morgenthaler Ventures, DoCoMo Capital, Troika Dialog, and others.
