Aeria Games, publisher of many free-to-play, massively multiplayer online role-playing games, announced the open beta of its digital distribution platform, Ignite. Aeria maintains over 30 MMOs including Realm of the Titans, Crystal Saga, and Shaiya.

While in limited beta, Ignite catered to over 200,000 daily active users. The service allows players to easily manage their profiles, find new games to play, and check friend lists from one convenient client. Ignite brings together PC, mobile, and browser-based MMOs from over 30 countries and allows players to seamlessly select among them while maintaining social connections. Ignite is available for download today from Aeria’s website.

“Ignite was created by Aeria Games to provide a comprehensive, easy-to-use distribution mechanism for free-to-play developers while giving our players one-click access to their favorite games, community features, and support,” Terry Ngo, chief technology officer of Aeria Games, said in a statement. “As the first application of its kind, we expect that Ignite will provide a valuable platform for developers wanting to reach core gamers.”

For developers, Ignite offers access to millions of Aeria’s active players and soon will allow them to offer products to mobile gamers who are using smart phones and tablets. Ignite extends Aeria’s publishing platform and distribution but also provides game makers with various features that streamline access to player analytics and monetization. Every Aeria title will carry an install for it in its initial download packet.

Founded in 2006, Aeria Games now has several offices in the U.S., Germany, and Brazil. According to the company, it hosts over 30 MMOs in nine languages and supports 40 million players. It recently launched Aeria Mobile, a division dedicated to producing new mobile games.
