Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami is going back to doing what he does best — scaring the crap out of gamers.

Mikami’s new studio, Tango Gameworks, is partnering up with publisher Bethesda Softworks to work on a new survival-horror title codenamed “Zwei.” He says he and his team are committed to making a game that is the realization of “pure” survival horror, which he defines as an experience that pushes the limits of fear and exhilaration.

“A true ‘survival horror’ game is one in which the player confronts and overcomes fear,” said Mikami. “I’ve found my focus, and once again I’m striving for pure survival horror. I am being very hands-on in the development of this game to ensure that the quality is there. Rest assured.”

A teaser site has already been created for Zwei and showcases a collage of environments designed to impart the tone and direction the project is taking.
