PlaySpace

PlaySpace, a developer of social games designed specifically for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking markets, has secured $1.9 in funding.

PlaySpace has over three million users across its casual PC games and plans to launch mobile titles soon. “The funds will be used to improve the product, to develop and launch new games, and to expand their offering internationally,” said PlaySpace in its press release. “PlaySpace is looking to launch its portfolio of games in the USA and in Latin America, where the company aims to become the leader in social gaming for the Spanish and Portuguese speaking market.”

PeopleFund was founded by a group of serial internet entrepreneurs and has completed 22 investments to date in USA, Latin America, Europe and Asia. The Spanish venture fund Faraday Ventures was one of the biggest contributors to PlaySpace’s $1.9 million.

“Our company was founded seven months ago, and this important investment round validates our rapid growth, our business model, and most importantly, the quality of the products we offer to our users,” said PlaySpace CEO and cofounder Alfonso Villar in a press release sent to GamesBeat. “It’s an honor for us to be able to work with the experienced teams of PeopleFund and Faraday Ventures. Their vote of confidence will help accelerate the development of our product and the value we create for our users.”
