Developer 343 Industries has finished work on Halo 4, and we’re just days away from its release. Now, the studio is announcing its plans for three map packs for Halo 4’s multiplayer, which are due in December, February, and April.

The first-person science-fiction shooter is the latest entry in Microsoft’s flagship franchise. It continues the story of Master Chief. Microsoft debuts Halo 4 on Nov. 5 for $59.99.

Each War Games map pack includes three maps and retails for approximately $10 on Xbox Live. Microsoft is also announcing that all customers can purchase access to all three map bundles with the Map Pass for $24.99 (2,000 Microsoft Points.)

343 will release the Crimson Map Pack in December. Majestic and Castle Map Packs are due in February and April, respectively.

Players who purchase the Map Pass also get two exclusive in-game helmets that look different both in design and decoration. The Map Pass comes as part of the $399.99 Halo 4 Xbox 360 console bundle.
