Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar are free.
This morning, the Greek government released game developers Buchta and Pezlar on bail of 5,000 euros each. Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras called Czech Prime Minister Petr Nečas to inform him that the two could return to their home country, according to Novinky.cz.
In October, the pair were arrested for allegedly photographing a Greek military installation on the island of Limnos. The government held Buchta and Pezlar on suspicion of spying for more than five months.
Both men work for Bohemia Interactive, which produces the Arma series of military first-person shooter games. Many believed the developers were in Greece to research locations for Arma III, but the studio denied the validity of that assumption.
That denial allowed Czech President Václav Klaus to petition Greece to release the men.
This isn’t the end of the proceedings. The two will still have to go to court, but Greek judges are currently on strike.
