Monolith Soft

Nintendo just threw a bit of a mini-Electronic Entertainment Expo on its Nintendo Direct streaming Internet show.

Company president Satoru Iwata revealed a number of new games and features. Among some of the big headliners like Zelda and Mario are a few great-looking third-party titles.

Take a look:

Monolith Soft’s new role-playing game “X”

This is the new RPG from Xenoblade Chronicles developer Monolith Soft. If it has a title, it is the “X” that flashes at the end of the trailer, but it is unclear if that is official. What this game does have is some dope music and Monster Hunter-like visuals.

Shin-Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem

Persona developer Atlus is in charge of this crossover game of the worlds of Fire Emblem and Shin-Megami Tensei. The trailer doesn’t reveal any gameplay, but it’s likely a strategy/tactical RPG (as this is what both series are, of course).

The Wonderful 101

Bayonetta developer Platinum Games revealed more of its Pikmin-like action game. This one appears like it’s shaping up really well. It has some of the most interesting-looking visuals and gameplay on Nintendo’s console.

Bayonetta 2

Another Platinum Games jam, this is the sequel to the fan-favorite character-action game. It stars the impossibly curvy/tall Bayonetta as she punches dudes with her hair.
