Publisher Electronic Arts released its earnings for its fiscal third quarter today. The company just beat Wall Street’s expectations. That’s great, alongside the revenue numbers and forecasts for future profitability were a list of interesting metrics and highlights for the company’s many properties.

Battlefield 3 Premium has 2.9 million subscriptions to date
That’s a lot of $49.99 subscriptions. For those that don’t know, Battlefield 3 Premium is the all-access pass for the downloadable content to developer DICE’s first-person shooter. EA says the program generated over $108 million in its fiscal Q3.
Dead Space 3 and Crysis 3 preorders are both outpacing their predecessors
EA didn’t provide any specifics regarding Dead Space 3. The publisher simply claimed that preorders for the latest entry in the space-horror shooter are outpacing that of Dead Space 2. Crysis 3 is tracking 40 percent ahead of Crysis 2, according to EA.
EA’s mobile division is growing
This includes both handheld games and titles for Nintendo and Sony portables. This segment generated approximately $100 million for EA in Q3. That’s a 18 percent increase from the same period in the year before. EA’s iOS game The Simpsons: Tapped Out grossed $23 million on the platform. It took the spot as the highest-grossing publisher on the iOS App Store.
EA operates on a FIFA-based economy
FIFA 13 sold a total of 12 million units by the end of EA’s Q3. That represents a 23 percent increase over FIFA 12. Revenue from digital sales for FIFA 13 reached $100 million for the quarter. That’s a 98 percent increase over FIFA 12. Total digital revenue for FIFA 13 throughout the first three quarters of EA’s fiscal 2013 topped $230 million.
Origin is still a thing
EA’s digital-download service has more than 39 million registered users. That number includes 17 million mobile users. The publisher has also signed an agreement with 86 indie developers to bring their products to Origin.
