Twitter has taken a page out of Facebook’s book with a new view for photos.
The enhanced interface shows images in a large lightbox. You can click any photo on a person’s Twitter profile page to see the new view, or you can click on images in search results. The image will pop up in the new lightbox without your having to leave the page.

It reminds us a lot of the magazine-like layout of Facebook’s photo galleries, which also feature lightboxing, larger image sizes, and a generally more visually friendly style.
Also, videos from approved Twitter partners (including Vimeo, YouTube, Vine, and others) will be included in media galleries going forward.
Another improvement announced today is all about conversations. Now, when you click on a tweet’s page, you’ll see more reply tweets — including replies to replies — as you scroll down. It’s like Inception up in here! Tweets all the way down!

The service has been taking media and content discovery very seriously over the past year or so, starting with the rollout of in-app photo sharing in late 2011 and continuing with the addition of photo filters last month and the launch of Vine, the new micro-video service, this year.
