Most people don’t really see girls as the gaming type or even really being interested in video games at all for that matter. But there are more girls than you think that are out there gaming, and i would put money on it that most of them are better than you.
Girls do like video games and i know many that are very good, most of them don’t play very much. Guess why? The stupid boys! People online can be very mean. If there is somebody online and they realize its a girl then they may leave. Maybe because a girl is beating them, or maybe just because its a girl playing. Others may decide to stick around and play just to be mean to her and maybe see if she will leave instead. Honestly im tired of this happening and i think its a waste of peoples time.
Ive been looking into this and i have a bit of a theory. I beleive that its the different online communities causing this. I rarely see any girls on xbox live and i dont blame them because there are some people on there that make the experience much less memorable. There is a slight increase in the girl population on pc but still not much. Except there is one surprising fact is that over half of the Playstation network community is girls! This may be just because most girls prefer playsttion over xbox and pc, but it may be because the online community is much nicer about playing with girls. Im a girl and i think that even because of the rude people on xbox, the online play is much better. But other girls may see a better experience in PSN than xbox live because the community doesnt seem to want them!
Over many many years, women have gone from having barely any rights and being opressed, to having all the same rights as men. Yet we cant even feel comfortable playing video games. Apparently we dont deserve the right to enjoy the same things you do right? WRONG.
I think that the entire online gaming community is going to have to accept the fact that the girls are here and ready to play. I think i speak for most girls when i say that we dont care whether you want us to play or not. So you better get ready boys!
