Slots Craze

Online gambling is still illegal in the United States, but the companies that support the industry overseas are preparing for it to make a return in this country.

Today, new developer Win released a free-to-play social casino game called Slots Craze for Facebook and iPhone. It doesn’t have any actual gambling elements, but Win has backing from Bwin.party, an online gambling company that runs sites like Party Poker.

“People have plenty of choices on Facebook and other platforms to enjoy the thrill of social casino games, but we feel the premium production value and compelling gameplay of Slots Craze delivers an unrivaled user experience,” Win chief executive officer Barak Rabinowitz said in a statement. “Slots Craze is our first major game to launch and marks the beginning of an ambitious product release schedule of cutting-edge entertainment developed in-house and with leading game studios around the world.”

Slots Craze is similar to a number of other online slots games, where players bet in-game credits and can purchase more, but they can’t cash out for real currency. If the U.S. legalizes online gambling, Win could quickly add real-money support into Slots Craze.

Nevada recently legalized online gambling and other states, like New Jersey, may soon follow with similar legislation.

Experts expect legal online gambling to generate billions of dollars in revenue, according to the state of Nevada.
