Bethesda just released the Barney Stinson version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. That is to say that the game is now now legen — wait for it — dary. Legendary.
The developer introduced a beta update to Skyrim that takes it to version 1.9. The patch introduces a new Legendary difficulty setting, which is specifically designed to challenge players who hit the level cap or those who just want more of a struggle. Skyrim 1.9 also has Legendary Skills, which gives you the option to reset your maxed-out skills to level 15. This essentially removes the overall level cap, according to Bethesda.
This update is only available in beta on Steam right now. If you want to download it, follow these instructions:
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
- Select “Properties.”
- Select the “Beta” tab.
- Use the drop box to opt in to the beta.
Naturally, this patch also addresses numerous in-game bugs. Head to the BethBlog for an extensive list of all the changes.
