Wargaming is continuing its mission of free-to-play domination.
Today, the developer announced World of Tanks: Blitz, a mobile version of its popular online multiplayer tank game. Wargaming built Blitz to work on tablets and smartphones.
“With World of Tanks: Blitz, we’re doing our best to give players a gaming experience that would rival anything they could find on a console,” Wargaming chief executive officer Victor Kislyi said in a statement. “We’ve always been committed to bringing World of Tanks to new platforms, and we’re excited to give players a chance to experience the game in a whole new way.”

Like the PC version, World of Tanks: Blitz features fighting vehicles from the U.S.A., U.S.S.R., and Germany. Gamers can upgrade and buy new tanks with in-game currency that they earn in the 7-on-7 battles or using real money and in-app purchases.
Wargaming didn’t set a release date, but we contacted the company and will update this post with any new information.
