In late May, GamesBeat talked to David Kotkin, the creator of the Delta Six gaming controller. The Delta Six is a controller that looks and acts like a real assault rifle.
In that article, we speculated that the mainstream media would eventually learn about the controller and Kotkin would have to deal with a media firestorm. That may have started today, as The View had Kotkin on to talk about the Delta Six — and the hosts of that show didn’t seem to pleased with what they saw.

The cohosts of The View, including Barbara Walters, Sherri Shepherd, and Joy Behar, are all very upset about the idea of a realistic gun controller.
“Why would you have to make something so realistic?” asked cohost Barbara Walters. “Something so very scary?”
Much of the issues the hosts had with the Delta Six focused the fact that kids are going to use it. They noted with amusement that Kotkin’s wife won’t even let his own kids play it.
“Well, then why are you selling it to other people’s kids?” asked Behar. The crowd applauded that line.
Kotkin tried to explain that it isn’t for kids. He said it’s for people like himself, and that he enjoys feeling like the hero in the games he played.
“It makes me feel good,” Kotkin told the hosts.
“Have you thought about therapy?” Behar asked Kotkin, which caused the audience to laugh.
“It’s a gaming gun for adults,” Kotkin told GamesBeat in June. “That’s what I want.”
The questioning then turned to the Sandy Hook shooting massacre. Walters asked Kotkin if that event changed his mind.
Kotkin explained that he hasn’t seen any evidenced that shows a correlation between video games and real-world acts of violence.
