Developer Infinity Ward is preparing to launch yet another Call of Duty this holiday season. The studio and publisher Activision want the latest entry in the franchise to stand apart with a beefed-up graphics engine for next-generation consoles and new, dynamic maps.

For the latter, Activision is teasing a preorder bonus that will give players access to the Free Fall map that takes place in a collapsing skyscraper. The building has busted up stairwells and elevator shafts on their side, but it will continue to disintegrate as gamers shoot their way through the match.

“Dynamic map events change the way players approach the game, and Free Fall does a great job illustrating this new mechanic,” Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin said in a statement. “As the match progresses, the geometry of the world continues to change and players need to adjust on the fly or else. It’s a really fun new feature that adds layers of strategy and constantly evolving gameplay options for players. And this is just one of the many new approaches we’re putting into Ghosts’ multiplayer across the board. There’s so much more that we look forward to sharing in the weeks to come.”

Infinity Ward claims the map destruction is dynamic. We’ve reached out to the developer to see if that means the map will break down in different ways each time.

One more thing: “Free Falling” by Tom Petty is now in your head.
