TT Games has released more than a dozen games based on Lego, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that the studio is working on a game tie-in for the upcoming film The Lego Movie.
The developer announced today that it will release The Lego Movie Videogame for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC, Nintendo 3DS, and PlayStation Vita. The game, like the movie, follows the adventures of Emmet, who is just an average Lego minifig that the other characters mistake as the key to saving their world.
The game and the movie will release in 2014.
“We’re thrilled to be able to give kids the joy of reliving Emmet’s adventures in becoming virtual Master Builders with The Lego Movie Videogame,” TT Games Publishing managing director Tom Stone said. “Players will be taking on the ultimate mission to save the LEGO world and use their virtual building prowess to build unimaginable sets and creations.”
The film has Emmet teaming up with characters like Batman and the 2002 NBA All-Stars to save the day. The final game will feature over 90 characters from the film. Check out the trailer for the movie below:
