Sega’s next Sonic game pays homage to another one of the publisher’s classic franchises.
Sega and Nintendo revealed earlier today that the special edition of Sonic: Lost World — called Sonic: Lost World — Deadly Six Edition — features levels based on the Sega Saturn title Nights Into Dreams. You can see a few quick moments from the content at the end of the latest trailer for the Wii U release.
Sonic: Lost World is due out for the Wii U and 3DS on Oct. 22. The Nights Into Dreams levels are exclusive to the Deadly Six Edition for Wii U.
We’ve reached out to Sega for more details about the special edition. We’ll update this post with any new information.
Sega released Nights Into Dreams in 1996 for its Saturn console. It follows the story of two children who enter a dream world where they meet a flying jester known as Nights. It featured 3D graphics and mixture of three-dimensional and side-scrolling gameplay.
