Sega and Nintendo are pushing back Sonic: Lost World an extra week.
The publishers now plan to release the upcoming Wii U and 3DS platformer on Oct. 29. Nintendo and Sega (who are working together on the title) originally announced an Oct. 22 release date.
Sonic: Lost World is a 2D and 3D platformer that follows the speedy blue hedgehog through a colorful new adventure. It’s exclusive to Nintendo platforms. Sega is developing it, and Nintendo is publishing it.
In addition to the Lost World delay, Sega and Nintendo also revealed today that it will release Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games on Nov. 8 on the Wii U eShop, according to gaming website CVG. The game has the two mascots (and their friends) competing in ice- and snow-based sporting events for Olympic medals.
Sonic: Lost World along with Mario & Sonic’s olympic title are part of a three-game deal between Nintendo and Sega. The companies revealed during a Nintendo Direct live-streaming show in May that Sega would release three exclusive Sonic games for Nintendo platforms. The third game is still unannounced.
