If you’re looking for an excuse to respin that Borderlands 2 disc, publisher 2K Games is offering up some real-life rewards for gunning down virtual targets in its Borderlands 2 $100,000 Loot Hunt.
Starting October 11, various computer-controlled residents of the first-person shooter’s world of Pandora will issue out a daily “community goal.” These challenges revolve around using specific weapons to eliminate certain enemies. Successfully completing the daily community goal will earn you one entry into the sweepstakes drawing. There is also a chance of gaining an even more powerful weapon drop if you complete every daily goal by the end of a week.
Real-life prizes include PlayStation Vita handheld systems, copies of Borderlands 2 for the Vita, custom Borderlands 2 Turtle Beach headsets, a custom-painted Tiki PC from Falcon Northwest, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 TI graphics cards, NVIDIA Shield portable-gaming units, Borderlands 2: Game of the Year edition strategy guides, every 2K Games release over the Steam distribution system … ever … until the day you die — and as the title of the contest hints at — $100,000 worth of cash. That’s $50,000 dispersed to multiple winners throughout the contest and $50,000 for one grand prize winner.
Although the real-life prizes are open to legal U.S. residents only, Borderlands 2 players from all over the world can still get in on the special in-game weapons. Also, if you don’t happen to have a copy of Borderlands 2 — like maybe you snapped the disc while rage quitting — you can still enter via postcard. If you don’t know what a postcard is, ask your grandparents.
Sign ups and additional information can be found at the official contest website.
