Publisher Ubisoft confirmed to GamesBeat that it will not release any of the sequel’s downloadable content on Nintendo’s console. That’s a shame, because some of the DLC looks very interesting.
Ubisoft announced its add-on plans for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag yesterday. The company will release a bunch of extra content as part of the title’s season pass on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. That includes new multiplayer characters, customization items, and more.
In addition to the in-game items, characters, and bonuses, Ubisoft is planning a story expansion called Freedom Cry that will put players in the shoes of freed slave and pirate assassin, Adewale. He is a member of Edward Kenway’s pirate crew in the main story of Assassin’s Creed IV, and Freedom Cry will follow him as he attempts to gather a crew and free the slaves of Saint Dominque of the Domincan Republic.
Freedom Cry looks incredibly interesting. It is tackling slavery head on in a way that few other games ever have, and Wii U players simply won’t have access to it.
