This war has no end in sight, and publisher Electronic Arts is about to kick off another battle in the great Plants vs. Zombies conflict.
Developer PopCap revealed today that it will launch Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare or Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Feb. 18. Garden Warfare is a third-person team-based shooter that uses fully rendered 3D graphics to bring the 2D characters of Plants vs. Zombies to life.
The multiplayer shooter has various modes including a 12-on-12 team deathmatch game called Garden & Graveyards that has players taking control of the plants or the zombies. For those who prefer co-op, Garden Warfare’s Garden Ops has up to four players teaming up as the walking vegetation to take on waves of the undead.
“Gamers across the world have fallen in love with the Plants vs. Zombies characters and now they’ll get to see them in an entirely new light,” Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare producer Brian Lindley said. “Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare give the series’ fans and shooter players a fun, new experience that they’ll both enjoy as they blast, chomp, and laugh their way through co-op and head-to-head online action.”
In addition to the Xbox releases, the game will also hit PC at a later date. EA will sell the game for $30 on Xbox 360, while it will cost $40 on Xbox One. That premium price will also get players two extra modes on the next-gen version.
