Move along. These aren’t the Sony Online Entertainment massively multiplayer online games that you’re looking for.

SOE has revealed that it is closing down four of its games later this year. Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures, Free Realms, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, and Wizardy Online will all officially go offline sometime in 2014.

“At Sony Online Entertainment, we are always evaluating our portfolio to ensure we’re providing players with the best gameplay experiences,” SOE director of global communications Michele Cagle said in a statement. “At times, as part of this commitment, we have to make the difficult decision to sunset a game so we can refocus our resources on other areas in the best interest of our company and player community.”

The publisher revealed that the games’ dwindling audiences didn’t justify their maintenance costs. Cagle said specifically that Free Realms players are moving on and that Clone Wars Adventures’ gamers have grown up.

Cagle confirmed to GamesBeat that the development teams responsible for the affected games will not be laid off. The company is moving those individuals over to other projects.

SOE is currently developing EverQuest Next and EverQuest Landmark. Next is a brand new MMO while Landmark is a creative game that enables the community to build content for EverQuest Next.

In addition to those two titles, SOE will continue to operate EverQuest, EverQuest II, DC Universe Online, and PlanetSide 2. Sony Online Entertainment also revealed a new All Access membership plan that will give players subscriptions to all of those titles (along with EverQuest Next and Landmark) for just $15 a month.

Finally, SOE president John Smedley is planning to answer questions from the community today at 3 p.m. Pacific on Reddit.
