Vine isn’t just for broadcasting anymore: the app now supports direct video messaging with friends and groups.
Vine, owned by Twitter, introduced the new feature today in an update, version 2.0. The video sharing service’s new messaging support is interesting, given how similar it is to Facebook’s questionably successful Instagram Direct release.
Instagram has played catch up with Vine since the former launched video support nine months ago. It’s interesting to now see the mouse chase the cat as Vine replicates one of Instagram’s most hyped features.
