The Last of Us for PS4 is really happening

One of the PlayStation 3’s biggest hits is coming to the PlayStation 4.

Sony has a banner ad up for The Last of Us: Remastered on its Sony Entertainment Network store. The promo informs consumers that they can “preorder now” for $60 to get the game on PS4. Publisher Sony Computer Entertainment America is confirming that the survival-action release is coming to the company’s newest console. You can check out the product listing right here.

“SCEA can confirm The Last of Us: Remastered is coming to PS4,” a Sony spokesperson told tech website Mashable. “And we’ll be sharing more details with you shortly.”

A physical version of The Last of Us: Remastered is also up for preorder on Amazon. It also notes that this version will include all of the downloadable add-on content that Naughty Dog has produced so far. The Remastered PS4 release will also feature commentary tracks from the cast and crew.

In a PlayStation blog, Sony confirmed that The Last of Us: Remastered will hit PS4 this summer.

That Last of Us follows the story of a pair of survivors in a postapocalyptic world overrun with a plague that turns humans into zombie-like creatures. It originally debuted on PS3 in June. Fans and critics showered it with accolades, and it was even GamesBeat’s 2013 Game of the Year.

This isn’t the first PS3 game to make the jump to PS4. Sony’s latest home console does not include backward compatibility with the PS3 because each device uses very different components. That led Sony to produce upgraded versions of older downloadable hits like Flower and Flow. The Last of Us, however, is the biggest and most-recent game to receive a port job.
