Amazon is planning to launch a local services marketplace for discovering “anything from babysitters to handymen,” Reuters claims.
Slated to debut in just one city this year, Amazon’s marketplace will reportedly take aim at services like Yelp and Angie’s List. However, the description provided by Reuters also suggests that the offering will compete with TaskRabbit and Craigslist.
Amazon is already in talks with numerous startups providing similar services in both Seattle and San Francisco, according to the report. The rollout is said to follow the same slow pace of Amazon’s grocery delivery service, Amazon Fresh.
Meanwhile, Amazon is gearing up to launch a 3D smartphone this month.
