Big Fish Games is adding some new Luxury Slots today to its Big Fish Casino, a suite of social casino games and one of the top-grossing mobile titles.
It’s not a big launch. But social casino games have become a $2.7 billion worldwide industry in a short few years thanks to rapid growth on Facebook and mobile, according to Eilers Research. This has prompted a lot of merger-and-acquisition deals as well as the creation of dozens of startups. And for Big Fish Games, the fifth-largest maker of social casino games, these kinds of titles generated $36 million in revenues in the last three months.
By enhancing its suite, Big Fish Games can re-engage its users and continue to make money from its title.
Seattle-based Big Fish Games is one of the biggest producers and distributors of casual games. Slot games are a big draw for mobile social casinos efforts. Revenues for slot games were $648 million in 2013, up from $48.2 million in 2011, according to SuperData Research. The market is expected to grow 68 percent in 2014.

The first slot machine game to roll out under the Luxury Slots banner is Phoenix Rising, which launched exclusively today on iOS. The features include an auto-spin function, rich graphics, fiery animations, and a full-screen interface that supports up to 25 lines of winning combinations.
Big Fish Games can incorporate the slot machine game inside its social casino suite. So the new games can enjoy an instant audience.
“Seventy-six percent of our players play slots,” said Carey DiJulio, Big Fish Casino’s vice president and general manager, in a statement. “The creation of Luxury Slots is in direct response to meeting the demands of our avid slot audience and the rapidly growing market.”
The game is available on iOS, and it will move to Android, PCs, and Facebook by the fall. Big Fish Casino currently includes craps, blackjack, Texas Hold’em Poker, video poker, roulette, and slots.
Founded in 2002, Big Fish Games has distributed more than 2.5 billion games in 150 countries. It has more than 3,500 PC games and 450 mobile games.
