Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft’s deck is a bit bigger today.
Publisher Blizzard’s long-promised Curse of Naxxramas add-on for its collectible-card game is now live. Players can hop into the online card battler now to purchase the entire add-on for $20 or to get just the first of five parts free for a limited time. Blizzard will eventually charge $7 for individual episodes in this new single-player adventure mode. The rest of the Naxxramas downloadable content will roll out over the next few weeks.
Curse of Naxxramas is important for Hearthstone as it introduces a new way for Blizzard to generate revenue from the free-to-play game. Prior to this, the head-to-head card game made money through the sales of booster packs and entrance into a special arena mode.

Hearthstone is available on PC, Mac, and iPad. It is also coming to iPhone and Android later this year. You can start playing immediately by downloading Blizzard’s Battle.net client from its website.
For players, Naxxramas will give them the first real single-player content (outside of a practice mode against computer-controlled opponents). The add-on will also enable players to get exclusive cards.
