Project management app Trello today spun out of its parent company, Fog Creek, and announced a $10.3 million funding round led by Index Ventures and Spark Capital.
After three years of operating within New York tech incubator Fog Creek, Trello is now an independent company, following in the footsteps of fellow Frog Creek alum StackExchange.
Index Ventures tells VentureBeat that Trello now serves 4.6 million users, 1 million of whom are monthly active users. Clients of Trello include Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Tumblr, and Kickstarter.
