Think you’ve been playing a lot of Destiny? This guy’s probably got you beat.

Mark Neace Jr., also known as N3AC3Y, hit level 30 in the first-person shooter yesterday after 107 hours of game time. He’s the first player to reach that level in Destiny (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One), which sold through over $325 million to consumers in its first five days, and is proof that Halo developer Bungie’s latest has long-term appeal beyond its initial campaign.

Progressing beyond level 20 in Destiny relies on finding armor that has a “light” level. Equipping enough of it can improve your character’s level beyond the soft cap of 20, but finding the stuff can take time and patience. Taking part in cooperative missions, including special weekly challenges, to keep improving your character forms Destiny’s endgame right now.

Despite mixed reviews from the gaming press, Bungie has insisted that Destiny is a game built to last for years, and it’s already added new content to help keep players engaged.

Today, a new character, the Queen’s emissary, has appeared in the game’s central hub area, the Tower, bringing new bounties and weapons with her.

According to community-run website Destinydb, Neace Jr. has spent a total of 107 hours, 15 minutes, and 22 seconds playing Destiny. He has split this time between three characters, including the Hunter that reached level 30 yesterday. His other two characters are level 20 and level 21.

Speaking on Twitter, Neace Jr. said that luck had played a part in his jump from level 29 to 30, thanks to the gear he’d found. “There is def a luck factor,” he said. “I’m pretty lucky.”

He didn’t get an early copy of the game, and according to his clan, Tier 1, he hasn’t just been playing Destiny nonstop. Which is reassuring to hear.
