Oh, those crazy Europeans and their risqué fashions. Even their consoles leave less to the imagination.
Nintendo should release red and blue transparent versions of its 2DS portable on Nov. 7 in the U.K., according to the game website Eurogamer. The 2DS is a system that plays 3DS games but without the 3D. The transparent versions come in a bundle with the upcoming Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire remakes once those come out in the U.K. on Nov. 28. We have no word on a U.S. release for the system designs.
Nintendo used to often make transparent variants of the various Game Boy incarnations, but it stopped the practice once it released the original DS back in 2004. Nintendo designed the 2DS as a more kid-friendly version of the 3DS, which has a 3D effect that can strain children’s eyes, so it makes sense to see more colorful and toy-like versions of that portable, especially with new Pokémon games coming out.
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire come out in the U.S. on Nov. 21.
