During a fireside chat today, AOL chief Tim Armstrong put down rumors that Yahoo and AOL were in talks for a potential merger.

When asked if the two companies were thinking of joining forces, Armstrong said, “No.” Speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt in Europe, Amstrong went on to say that he had a 30- to 40-page deck he had prepared to present in New York on AOL’s 2015 plans and that Yahoo is not mentioned once in it.

In September, investment firm and majority Yahoo stake holder Starboard Value published an open letter to Yahoo chief Marissa Mayer asking her to consider the purchase of AOL. Over the years there have been whispers that Yahoo and AOL would merge, although the rumors appear unsubstantiated to date.
