China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba has forged a new partnership with e-commerce platform Bigcommerce today aimed at helping online businesses more easily order inventory from suppliers.

While Alibaba reportedly accounts for 80 percent of all online commerce in China, the company is also a major leader when it comes to wholesale trading. Through the new partnership, Alibaba will integrate its technology into Bigcommerce’s overall platform, which gives businesses an easy way to setup and manage a secure online store.

Businesses using Bigcommerce’s platform will now be able to directly connect with wholesale vendors across the globe to restock products for online stores. It will also make it easier for merchants to sift through multiple vendors’ inventory to find the products they need.

The partnership is a nice benefit for Austin-based Bigcommerce, which currently has over 55,000 retailers using its ecommerce platform. With the added integration with Alibaba, the number of wholesale vendors from China should rise steadily going forward.
