A messaging app is giving developers some help in the crowded mobile game market.

Tango has signed six developers from around the world as the first part of its $25 million Global Games Fund, including Planeto from Sweden, Falafel Games from the Middle East, and Shiny Shoe Games (which created match-three puzzle games based on the films Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Mummy) from San Francisco. This gives those developers support, but it also gives Tango a piece of the $16 billion mobile market and visibility inside the messaging app, giving huge exposure to some of these smaller studios from across the world.

“The Tango Global Games Fund offers these mobile game developers a clear path to success with a one-of-a-kind game distribution model,” stated a press release from Tango sent to GamesBeat. “Rather than limit distribution efforts to premier real estate within the Tango app, top-performing games will receive promotion through additional, off-platform marketing channels.”

Tango is a free messaging app with over 250 million registered users. It is a Top 100 free app on iTunes and a Top 50 free app on Android.
