It looks like an online fantasy world has more to worry about than demons and dragons.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the massively multiplayer role-playing game for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 3, is currently suffering a distributed denial of service attack, a kind of cyber threat where a large number of computers are used to overwhelm a network. According to Final Fantasy XIV’s site, this attack is responsible for login difficulties over the past few days.

“Our technical staff is taking every possible measure to address this issue, but the attack is still continuing to take place by changing their methods at every moment,” the site states. “We will continue to monitor and work on recovery from every possible angle.”

The site also said that players’ personal information and character data are not at risk.

This is the second MMO to suffer a DDoS attack this month. World of Warcraft had the same problem when it launched its newest expansion, Warlords of Draenor, last week.

Final Fantasy XIV will get its first expansion, Heavansward, next Spring. It will increase the level cap, add new jobs, and introduce flying mounts.
