Orchestro, a maker of business analytics and automation software for retailers and consumer packaged goods companies, announced it has raised $9.8 million in new funding. Novak Biddle Venture Partners led the round, with additional participation from Orchestro investors, including CNF Investments and New Markets Venture Partners.

Celebrity crossword app maker PuzzleSocial secures $3M
PuzzleSocial, maker of an ap called “Daily Celebrity Crossword,” announced it has secured $3 million in funding today at a $15 million valuation. App development company KiwiTech led the round for New York-based PuzzleSocial.

Digital crossword puzzle company PuzzleSocial raises $3 million in funding
Here’s a six-letter word every company likes to hear: funded. PuzzleSocial has completed a $3 million Series A funding round led by Kiwi Tech. Other investors included Thayor Bigelow (former president of HBO) and Mark Wachen of Upstage Ventures. In total, the company has raised $4.8 million.
Client management app Front Desk raises $2.8M
Seattle-based Front Desk, maker of a client management service for small businesses, today announced it has secured at least $2.8 million in a public filing. The company intends to raise as much as $4 million, according to the filing.
