LAS VEGAS — Misfit has partnered with the jewelry retailer Swarovski to create a hybrid health and fashion wearable. The wearable has a crystal face and a body made of aircraft-grade aluminum, the companies said. Inside, an accelerometer and the Misfit software are constantly monitoring the wearer’s activity and sleep.

The device can be worn as a pendant, band, or bracelet. Misfit and Swarovski hope that the Swarovski Shine looks good enough to allow the health-conscious lady to wear it in the daytime, and in more formal settings in the evening.

Using the accompanying app, users can set goals, see their activity level over time, and monitor improvement. Tapping the front of the Swarovski Shine shows how close the user is to reaching a fitness goal. The watch function tells the time using a halo of lights that glow through the watch face.

The Swarovski Shine runs off a watch battery that lasts up to 6 months. The “violet” version uses natural sunlight, LEDs, or halogen lighting to charge up.
