Here’s how big Docker got last year

San Francisco startup Docker, which has come up with open-source technology for packaging up application code into movable containers, had a heck of a year in 2014. Big companies like Microsoft and IBM allied with it, a whole lot of developers woke up to the technology, and the startup announced not one but two funding rounds.

Today Docker quantified the growth of its technology in 2014 — in terms of the number of stars the Docker project picked up on GitHub, the number of applications bound up in Docker containers, and other metrics.
