Sony is hosing down its gaming servers, and it’ll keep you from fully accessing PlayStation Network for a few hours.
The company is performing maintenance on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita today. The work began at 9 a.m. Pacific (12 p.m. Eastern), and it will continue through 1 p.m. Pacific (4 p.m. Eastern). Like usual, this work will bring down the PlayStation Store, account management, and PS Home. But you will still have access to online multiplayer games as long as you have signed into your PSN account over the last few days.
Even Sony’s PSN status site is down as part of the maintenance.
Additionally, PS4 gamers won’t have access to the What’s News feed, their Live Items, or their Library. But messaging and video services like Netflix, Amazon Instant Video, and Hulu Plus should work like normal.
Sony is also warning gamers that they may experience continued downtime after the maintenance is over as the company tests the changes and improvements it made.
