People are spending $30 or more on eBay for the chance to play a demo of Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy Type-0 HD released earlier this week and the role-playing remake — originally a PlayStation Portable release — comes bundled with an exclusive demo of the much-anticipated Final Fantasy XV. It seems some gamers are so keen to get their hands on the demo that they’re willing to spend up of $30 on the eBay auction site just to try it out. That’s half the retail price of the game it comes bundled with.
Final Fantasy Type-0 originally released way back in 2011, but developer Square-Enix has brought the previously Japan-exclusive release up to date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Bundling in a substantial demo for Final Fantasy XV looks like a smart move to further increase sales of Type-0 HD, but some gamers are clearly only interested in the bundled demo — and they’re willing to pay for it.
Square-Enix might have been better off selling the demo, titled Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae, for $30 up front. That would certainly have turned a few heads.
