Mighty No. 9 comes to market with help from the Saints Row people.

Games publisher Deep Silver announced a partnership with developer Comcept to bring the highly anticipated game Mighty No. 9 to retail and digital today. Keiji Inafune’s Kickstarter for what would be the spiritual successor to Capcom’s Mega Man was wildly successful, more than quadrupling its original goal to pull in about $4 million from fans. But it has been without a publisher or solid release date until today. Now, Deep Silver (Saints Row) will bring it to market on Sept. 15 (Sept. 18 in Europe).

Deep Silver will hold down marketing and distribution for the title in this partnership, as well as localization and voiceovers — work that would have been difficult for small independent studio Comcept to handle on its own. The publisher will also support upcoming downloadable content which will add a new playable character to the game (the original Kickstarter backers get this DLC for free).

Deep Silver’s senior brand manager Pete Brolly took to the PlayStation Blog to official announced that it would bring Mighty No. 9 to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PC, and Mac on Sept. 15, with a Vita and 3DS release following soon after.
