This has probably happened to many of you: A trip to GameStop turns frustrating when you try to ask the associate about some hot upcoming game, but they don’t know anything about it and — even worse — pretend you’re crazy for thinking it exists.
Well, that happened to Jareth Evanz, a fan of the Rock Band music games who went to his local GameStop to ask about the new sequel. But when he encountered a rather misinformed employee at the game retailer, he decided to do something about it.
“[He] tried to convince me that ‘Rock Band 4 isn’t happening,'” Evanz wrote on the Rock Band Facebook page.
The GameStop associate told Evanz that “they are making just a Guitar hero game. And the guys who made Rock Band are under contract by Guitar Hero and cannot make a game.”
Yikes! That’s super incorrect. Rock Band 4 is due out soon.
Evanz, who is apparently instilled with an innate sense of justice, went straight to Harmonix for help.
“Please, for the love of god, show me some kind of information I can rub in his face,” wrote Evanz.
And Harmonix delivered:
Naturally, Evanz decided to head back to his GameStop to have his moment of glory. After teasing the clerk for a bit, Evanz showed the employee an image of the message from Harmonix.
“The entire time his coworker and my best friend are just chuckling away,” wrote Evanz.
That probably felt amazing.
