Microsoft starts rolling out Sway to Office 365 business and education users

Microsoft today said that it has begun to make its Sway presentation app available to certain “qualified” Office 365 business and education customers.

That’s not a surprise — just a couple of weeks ago, at Microsoft’s enterprise-oriented Ignite conference, executives announced their intention to do so. And it’s only natural for Sway to be packaged up in various Office products over time, as Sway is a rare addition to the coveted Office product suite.

In addition to announcing this rollout, Microsoft’s Sway team wrote in a blog post today that the tool now supports Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, not just English. And you can throw in content from Flickr and Wikipedia now, too.

Microsoft has also introduced the Grid Card feature to display pictures in a clean and neat user interface in a Sway presentation.

The Sway team is emphasizing in the blog post that Sway will come in handy for both teachers and students.

Microsoft first announced Sway in October, and in the months since then it’s been adding features, such as real-time coauthoring.
