Creators of Talking Tom app unveil multiplayer bubble shooter Mars Pop

Outfit7, the company that created the enormously popular Talking Tom and Friends apps, announced today that it has created Mars Pop, a new bubble-shooter mobile game with real-time interactive multiplayer play for casual gamers.

Mars Pop adds its own twist to the popular genre of bubble-shooter games, where you shoot a bubble from the bottom of a screen to the top in order to pop a bunch of bubbles. The market for bubble shooters is a pretty crowded part of the $30 billion mobile-games market, but Outfit7 has put a lot of work into this title. This is the first time that Outfit7 has departed from its popular Talking Tom and Friends app franchise, which has generated 2.8 billion downloads since launch and more than 250 million active monthly users.

The new game is set in the visionary city of NeoMars in the year 2124. You battle players live as characters Jet or Eve, racing to see who can burst the most bubbles before they fill your screen. You can play anonymously against anyone in the world with no sign-in required, or you can connect via Facebook to challenge your friends.

Mars Pop matches you with an opponent based on your skill level and gives you both the ability to see each other’s screens as you burst each other’s bubbles. As you explode a line of bubbles on your screen, another line of bubbles is then sent to your opponent. That is perhaps the most unique part of the gameplay.

You can also participate in global tournaments to level up and see where you rank against your friends and other players on the live leaderboards. Audio emotes can also be sent to your opponent during gameplay to express your mood.

Mars Pop is the first product launch from Outfit7’s new transmedia brand, NeoMars, which has been developed to span multiple entertainment platforms.

Mars Pop is available on iOS, Android, and Windows as a free-to-play title.
