Intel teams up with United Artists on TV contest to find America’s Greatest Makers

Intel has gone Hollywood. The world’s biggest chip maker teamed up with United Artists today to create a contest for the inventor who can make the best wearable computing device.

Mark Burnett, chief executive of United Artists Media Group, announced the new TV show, dubbed America’s Greatest Makers, alongside Intel CEO Brian Krzanich today during the keynote speech for the Intel Developer Forum event in San Francisco.

The show is scheduled to debut in the first half of 2016, and it features inventors who will compete for a $1 million prize by inventing wearable technology and smart connected consumer devices powered by the Intel Curie module. The Curie is a small Internet of Things chip that takes up a tiny amount of space and has a lot of computing horsepower.
