Blizzard is about ready to inspire you to spend a grand amount of money on Hearthstone cards.
The company revealed this morning that it is launching the collectible card battler’s next expansion — called The Grand Tournament — on August 24. That means you can start buying and unwrapping booster decks from this new collection of minions, spells, and more starting on Monday.
With Hearthstone already making approximately $20 million every month, The Grand Tournament could help improve that high number even further. Hearthstone is Blizzard’s first real free-to-play and mobile game, but it hasn’t suffered any transition period. The company has delivered several new features and cards throughout the game’s short life, and all of that — leading up to and including The Grand Tournament — has kept the large player base happy and excited to keep coming back for more.
The Grand Tournament add-on brings 132 new cards to Hearthstone. These include knights, champions, and jousters — but it also includes something that will fundamentally change the way this card battler works. It’s called “Inspire,” and it is a new mechanic that attaches to certain minions and gives a boost to the player character’s hero power.

So this expansion is bound to unleash a plethora of new strategies and methods to the wider Hearthstone community, which is likely going to convince players to spend heavily on the expansion in the early days after its release.
To facilitate that spending, Blizzard is offering gamers a deal where they can get 50 packs of The Grand Tournament cards for $50 until the expansion goes live. Once it does, the price of those packs will increase.
