If you’re a PC player who’s been patiently waiting to get a chance to play a particular Capcom game from 2012, you’re finally in luck.
The publisher announced today that its action role-playing game Dragon’s Dogma is getting a PC release in January 2016. Based on the 2013 enhanced edition, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, this version includes all of the downloadable content created for the original game and a new zone that came with Dark Arisen. The PC version will cost $30 and include Steam support.
However, don’t expect The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim-level modding for the PC version. “There will be no official mod support for the PC version, but modding is possible at a user’s discretion and based on their rig,” Capcom told GamesBeat.
Role-playing games made in Japan have not traditionally had a strong presence on PC, but that’s changed in recent years. Classics like Grandia 2 and Final Fantasy IV have found their way to Steam’s digital store as well as modern examples like Final Fantasy Type-0 and the upcoming Tales of Zesteria.
Dragon’s Dogma originally came out for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. The game saw PC releases in other territories, but this is the first one coming out for the West.
Dragon’s Dogma is an action role-playing game that lets players choose between classes like Mage, Warrior, and Ranger. You also have computer-controller allies, called Pawns, that fight with you.
