Watch the inexplicable Indianapolis Colts fake punt re-created in Tecmo Super Bowl

Let’s watch one of the biggest trick-play failures in NFL history re-created in the classic 8-bit football game Tecmo Super Bowl.

The New England Patriots are such a good football team that they can apparently force other teams to make incredibly dumb decisions. Last night, during NBC’s Sunday Night Football, the Indianapolis Colts attempted to catch the Patriots off guard by … shifting their punt unit to the right and then … well, who knows? It didn’t work, and now we can watch the failure in glorious pixelated 8-bit art.

A YouTube creator known as The Cauldron has uploaded a video of that play running in Tecmo Super Bowl for the Nintendo Entertainment System. And it goes about as well as you would expect.
