Apple is now accepting developer submissions of tvOS apps for the new Apple TV, which it unveiled backed in September and which we recently learned will ship late next week (pre-orders start Monday). Check out our hands-on here.

Apple has laid out some guidelines for developers preparing tvOS apps for submission. To get started, they’ll need to “update [their] version of Xcode to the latest release of Xcode 7, which includes the latest tvOS SDK, and download and install tvOS GM seed on an Apple TV Developer Kit.”

As with its iPads and iPhones, Apple wants developers to optimize the design and images of their apps for the new platform, which some have hailed as holding the potential to be Apple’s most revolutionary product in years.

To get developers comfortable working with the new remote control functionality, Apple has laid out some Apple TV human interface guidelines. Meanwhile, tvOS App Store guidelines are available here.
