SAN FRANCISCO — Fans of PewDiePie enjoy watching the Let’s Play YouTube star crapping his pants playing horror games, but what about when he is thrown into a real-life horror environment?

During the YouTube Red announcement this morning, YouTube global head of operations Susanne Daniels announced, Scare PewDiePie. The premise of the YouTube exclusive is part-reality show, part-prank show. A camera crew will follow PewDiePie as he explores specially designed sets that are inspired by the various horror video games he plays.

The move shows how YouTube plans to deliver exclusive content to its new $9.99-a-month subscription service as well as take advantage of one of its biggest stars, who antics made him $7.5 million last year and are part of a growing $3.8 billion gaming-video market.

Scare PewDiePie is set to release on YouTube’s subscription paid service, YouTube Red ($9.99 a month), in 2016.
